The Chicago Department of Health will host "Nobody Quits like Chicagoland," a week-long anti-smoking campaign kicking off on November 14, 2016. Events throughout the week will aim to raise awareness about resources available to help Chicagoans quit smoking.

The Midwest Business Group on Health is one of the many health organizations co-hosting an event during this week.

In recognition of the importance of smoking cessation, we are:

  • Conducting a survey focusing on what employers are doing in compliance with the Affordable Care Act's Requirements on Smoking Cessation
  • Hosting a free webinar for employers on what can be done at the worksite and the resources available to support an employer's efforts, as well as providing the results of the ACA compliance survey
  • Encouraging our members to hold a smoking cessation program, promote your benefits to support efforts to stop smoking or disseminate materials related to smoking risks on Nov. 14th, 2016 for "Employer/Worksite Day"

If you plan to conduct such activities, please let MBGH know so your firm can be recognized in a press release we plan on disseminating to acknowledge participating members.

We hope you'll participate in this important week to reduce the incidence and cost of smoking in your business and your workforce.
