Bio

Cheryl Larson is Vice President of the Midwest Business Group on Health, a non-profit employer coalition comprised of over 130 self-funded, large, public and private multi-state organizations who provide health benefits to over 4 million covered lives and annually spending over $4 billion on health care. She has worked for MBGH for a total of 24 years, joining the coalition in 1983 until 1996 when she served as Director of Membership Development and returning in 2006 after working for a population health management firm.

Cheryl leads MBGH’s educational and networking activities and oversees several major employer research projects including the National Employer Initiative on Specialty Drugs, Value-based Benefit Design Research Series, Promoting Preventive Health Benefits and Employer Communications Initiative on Benefits Literacy and Consumerism.

She is a nationally-recognized speaker on employer best practices in managing specialty drugs, value-based benefit designs and use of incentives, wellness and wellbeing, consumerism and engagement, and effective benefit communications. She currently serves as an Advisory Council Member for the Center for Employee Health Studies at the University of Illinois/Chicago School of Public Health, Oncology Medical Home Steering Committee for the Community Oncology Alliance, Task Force on Low-Value Care for VBID Health and multiple industry committees representing the employer/ purchaser perspective.
